Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence

Key Ingredients:

- 63% Black Bee Propolis Extract

- 10% royal jelly extract

- 10% black honey extract

Texture and application:

- Clear, slightly viscous essence

- Smells sweet and faintly of honey 

- Slightly sticky consistency 

- Leaves a tacky finish on skin

- Beautiful packaging 

- The dropper is unique but not as user friendly because the dispensing amount is difficult to control

My opinion:

If you’ve used propolis/honey serums before then you know how good they are for skin. This essence is no different. I’ve used it every time I felt like my skin was dry/ irritated and needed some extra help, especially when I had new breakouts and red skin. It was very moisturizing but the tacky finish was a small drawback. Although it’s not too sticky but it’s not a completely light weight essence. I used this in my PM routine and sealed with a heavier moisturizer and I woke up with perfectly moisturized skin. Overtime, I’ve noticed my skin feeling better, healthier and reduced breakouts. Although I don’t use it everyday, but I’ll surely reach out for this during the colder months when my skin is more on the dry side. This is great for dry and dehydrated skin or a compromised skin barrier!

Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off

Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask

Key Ingredients: 

- Egg White extract

Texture and application:

- Creamy, white mask

- Really easy to spread on face

- Dries down pretty quickly 

- Doesn’t feel super tight and crackly once dried

- Easy to wash off

- Has a really nice scent and does NOT smell like eggs

My opinion:

I love Skinfood’s concept of using food as star ingredients. Did anyone else apply raw egg whites as a DIY pore tightening mask back in the day? Because I did and it dried into a tight glue that made moving your facial muscles impossible. This reminded me of that however it’s nothing alike. In fact, it’s easier to apply, smells good and effects are more subtle. I applied it on my T-zone and on areas I had some breakouts. Immediately after washing off I didn’t feel any tightness or irritation. The effect was very subtle but I noticed my T-zone less oilier the next day. I’d recommend this to anyone with very oily skin and enlarged pores. Nothing can really change the size of pores but deeply cleaning them and avoiding sebum buildup will prevent future breakouts.

Skinfood Carrot Carotene Moist Effector

Key Ingredients:

- Carrot Extract

- Carrot Seed Oil

- Beta-Carotene

My Opinion:

This Ampoule contains 75% Beta-carotene from carrot seed oil. I really loved this as it’s a simple hydrating ampoule that’s great for any skin type. I’m really into hydrating my skin now and this works just as great as any Hyaluronic acid serum. It’s a very light textured ampoule that’s best applied on damp skin and followed by a thicker moisturizer. It does not leave any stickiness or oiliness on skin and is overall very comfortable to use under makeup and other skincare products. I will surely be reaching out for this all summer!

Carrot Carotene Calming Water Pad

 

My Opinion:

These water pads also contain the key ingredients listed above and they are THICK! I loved putting them on sensitized areas of my skin and just leaving them there because it felt very hydrating and cooling. It’s not a harsh or textured pad for exfoliating, rather a very soft one. The essence it’s soaked in is very watery and light. It’s a great hydrating and calming essence without any heaviness. I would say these are more like mini thick sheet masks and suitable for any skin type.
