Hydrium Soothing Set

I am the happiest girl on Earth when Style Korean announces that they are hosting another Try Me Review Me event featuring Cosrx's Hydrium Line. The participants of the event were given the opportunity to choose their Customized Summer Skincare Routine of either the Soothing Set or Moisturizing Set. Of course, I chose the Soothing Set since I think it will suit my skin better than the other option.

“B5  which  is  known  as  panthenol  is the  key ingredient of Hydrium line. B5 has moisturizing,  regenerating,  and  anti- inflammatory  effects and  is safe  to  use  on  all  skin  type. 

I received 5 products from Cosrx Hydrium Soothing set to try:

1. Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser

2. Hydrium Watery Toner

3. Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule

4. Hydrium Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel Cream

5. Triple Hyaluronic Water Wave Sheet Mask

 

Scent:

Rich and creamy, densed cleanser

My Experiences:

I have oily skin, I enjoy foamy cleanser and this is the one that I'd reach for if I feel like my skin is congested or extra oily. It cleanses well without stripping my skin. 

Just pour out a little amount of the cleanser and foams it up by adding tiny bit of water, it'll lather and foam so much. I would massage it for about 30 seconds on my face and it leaves my skin feeling fresh, soft and clean! My pores are looking cleaner without this cleanser makes my skin feeling taut post-cleansing. 

However, the fragrance is quite strong, it reminds me of the drugstore cleansers I used to use during my teenage days. 

I do not experience any adverse reaction (clogged pores, taut skin, itchiness, redness, etc) from using this product.

Hydrium Watery Toner

Description:

Moisture toner with vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid which makes your skin more dewy with full of hydration. 

With Hydrium Synergy-8 Complex which is consist of six types of hyaluronic acids, d-panthenol and allantoin,

this toner fills up your skin deep with moisture and helps keep hydrated for a long time.

Volume :

Texture:

 Watery with slightly viscous consistency

The toner comes in a blue tint bottle with a flip cap and a pinhole distributor. It is easy to dispense it out since the hole is a bit wide. 

My Experiences :

I usually pour some amount of the toner onto my palms and pat it onto my skin for maximum result. I find that using this method is better in terms of delivering hydration to my skin rather than using a cotton pad which may absorbs some of the toner. 

This toner gives instant cooling effect and hydration boost, after cleansing my face. It absorbs quite fast. 

It helps to soothe skin's taut feeling, after over cleansing the face or using any actives. I really enjoy hydrating toner using the sandwich technique to boost up the hydration game in my skincare routine. Since it is quite lightweight, I'd put on a few layers of it without it being heavy. My oily skin alos enjoys 5/7 skin method with this toner too. 

Use it during a hot day, this toner (made it a face mist) would helps to soothe the heat on the skin. It lives up to its name and packed with goodness of great humectants such as Allantoin, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate.

Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule

 What is it?

Pure hydration without any irritation!

A lightweight, fast-absorbing ampoule that delivers immediate, pure hydration even for angry, red acne skin.

42% of the Centella Asiatica extract and the Madecassoside compounds provide mild moisture for sensitive skin and effectively calm sensitive skin

It comes in a sturdy, opaque white colored bottle with a dropper. 

My Experiences:

This ampoule is such a life savior! It works great to soothe inflammed active acnes, especially the painful cystic acne I am having. I love putting this ampoule at night and wake up to more soothed acne. 

It is lightweight to use it the daytime too. It also soothes the maskne and irritation from over-wearing face mask. It instantly took away the redness on my skin. 

It absorbs quickly without any stickiness or film on my skin. I use 1 vial of dropper per routine to cover my whole face. It does feel hydrating on my skin. 

There was a day I had some bad itchiness on my skin, I put this ampoule on that spot, it did helped to soothe it in just a few minutes. I am loving this product and will continue using it to see what other magic it can do to my skin. 

I'd appreciate it if the bottle is a see through so that I can easily track how many product is left in the bottle.

Hydrium Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel Cream

What is it?

A gelly, cooling, non-oily gel cream moisturizer that immerses skin in hydration. 

How to Use:

Apply two or three drops onto the face before a moisturizer, avoiding the eye and mouth area.Use as the last step of your skincare before Hydrium Ampoule. Apply a proper amount evenly onto face avoiding the eye area.

Packaging:

It comes in a 50 ml volume in a opaque white jar, no spatula given. I love the minimalist packaging of this whole Hydrium Line.

Texture: 

Like a jelly, it is light and airy. It has a watery gel-consistency.

My Thoughts:

I have been using it for a few days straight, a few times a day, in AM and PM routine. This lightweight gel spreads easily and absorbs fast into my oily skin, leaving no tackiness or any film. 

It instantly gives cooling sensation on my skin, taking away all the heat from Mr. Sunshine, yeah your girl here lives in a tropical country. This type of gel cream is definitely great for summer as we all want a cream that is lightweight and fast absorbing yet hydrates the skin instantly. 

The soothing power is no joke. I am now having quite bad maskne because I am wearing mask from 7am to 5 pm at work. It helps to calm down the angry pimples over the night. 

It quickly soothes irritations from over-wearing of face mask. The redness and itchiness are quickly gone when I put this gel cream on the targeted areas. 

Despite being great as a cooling, soothing gel as it intended to do, I do think using it alone as the moisturizer is not enough. It lacks occlusive element as a moisturizer. So I'll need to add another layer of denser cream to seal all the layers of products I put on my face. 

Lastly, I'd prefer a tube packaging for such consistency of gel cream. It is more convenient and easier to control the amount of product to be used.

Triple Hyaluronic Water Wave Sheet Mask

Description:

Sheet Mask drenched in three different kinds of hyaluronic acid to provide deep, intense hydration to dry, dehydrated skin leaving it supple and moisturized.

 The Sheet:

Soft material (bio-degradable) that hugs the skin well 

The Essence:

Light-weight, watery texture that gives cooling sensation to the skin. It has a mild minty scent, probably from the Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil.

 My Experiences:

This sheet mask is good to replenish and rejuvenate the skin after a long, hot day.

The fitting is okay for my round face. It adhered well as it stayed put on my face even when I'm walking around while having it on. It instantly cools down the heat and giving the hydration boost to my face.

After having it on for about 15 minutes, I removed it and pat the remaining essence on my face that absorbs pretty quickly. It does not leave any tacky finish so it's good! 

I think it is great to prep the skin before makeup as it does make my face felt plumper and smooth post-masking.

Overall, I am very impressed with the Soothing Set from the Hydrium Line. They are a quick fix to calm the angry pimples and maskne. I will continue using them and hopefully they will make my skin better and healthier.
