There is a smell but it is not offfensive. I don't really know if there is any brightening done as I am more to redness than brown spot on my skin but i treat this as an antioxidant.

I got this serum because it contains 2% high-purity Glutathione (brightening/antioxidant), NMN (cellular energy/repair), and a 5% Triple Glow Complex (niacinamide, Vitamin C, fruit extract). Since I started using it I am seeing the blemishes slightly lighten. I love that this product hasn't clogged my pores. Great serum.

This product smells HORRIBLE! It was so unpleasant to apply and wear due to the smell.
