Light, grainy texture. Milder than most exfoliators. But so very effective. Within under a minute I noticed the dead skin sloughing off my skin. My face notices the difference straight away. For my skin, I use it once a week being that I keep up on my skin care routine and rinse with lukewarm water with a cold splash at the end to help tighten and close the pores.
