This is a nice, watery essence, which I prefer. Since I have combo-oily, acne prone skin, I appreciate that it absorbs quickly without any stickiness. However, this essence may not be hydrating enough for those with dry skin. As far as the claim "brightening and firming", it's difficult to assess the effectiveness for two reasons. One, I use other "brightening" products at the same time. Two, I haven't used it long enough. Also, this essence has no noticeable scent, which would be great for those who avoid fragrance.

This is my go to first essence. I use this daily immediately after cleansing my face. I’ve been using the old version and wanted to try the 5x version as lve seen a lot of good reviews on this.

This is a great layering or standalone essence. The only frustrating thing is that you can never get all of the product out of the glass packaging.
