No lie, this essence smells like lipstick from the 1980s. Chemical-floraly. Not a fan. It's overpowering too and burns my nose. I'm beginning to the the whole 24k gold thing is just a gimmick. This did nothing for my skin, and its too thick and gooey for a first essence in my opinion. I like my first couple layers to be on the light side, and then gradually work my way up to the thickest cream upon layering. A first essence is the first layer so yeah, this does not fit in with my regular skincare routine and it stinks so I will not be repurchasing. Pro tip, don't soak your toner pads in it. You need a ton for the pads to absorb it, and by the time the stack absorbs there is TOO much. Ick!
