Gel texture and I’d say depending on how big your face is 1-2 pumps is enough, I use 1 1/2 sometimes. It took a few months for me to see results but I definitely noticed that my acne scarring slightly lightened. Wasn’t too hydrating but felt nice, neither did it break me out. This one might be better for lightening dark spots at a much slower pace and repairing your skin barrier possibly. I believe there’s a yellow one that might be better for hyperpigmentation, but I haven’t tried that yet. Pretty good at the end since I saw results after a few months, wouldn’t mind repurchasing when I can
