Despite the lighting in my photo being funky, it is a milky color, but very watery. I'd say this provides some moisture, and supplements brightening--but I wouldn't use it as a primary for brightening. For all the extracts and stuff, I'd be wary if you have sensitive skin. Mine is really resilent, and if I overdid it with something, this product would be my canary as it'd be the first to sting going on. Nevertheless I did enjoy layering it--super easy to fit in a routine, because it didn't make you sticky or leave a film. dunno if I'd buy it again.
