Some basic benefits are that it’s alcohol, fragrance, and essential oil free. It has a gel consistency where it’s slightly thick but still like water. There are six total ingredients but the main ones are astragalus membranaceus root extract and arginine. The root extract is a medicinal herb that’s been proven by modern research to have anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties with a substantial amount of bioactive compounds (ex: saponins, flavonoids). For arginine, it’s an amino acid that is essential to hair keratin and skin collagen. It’s a natural moisturizing factor and due to it’s positive charge, it creates a complex with AHAs (they like to be negatively charged) and reduces the irritation that usually comes with using AHAs. I was using the haruharu black rice toner before and I think this essence toner really improved the redness of my cheeks and made my skin feel hydrated. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a really simple toner that just works.

It has a bit of a body because it's a waterless formula. It almost has a jelly like consistency. However, it glides like a dream leaving not even a hint of tack nor film. Great for layering when doing the 7 skin method. Brings a good amount of hydration, leaving your skin plump and bouncy.
