The idea is great, it is super easy to clean. Other plus is that it distributes the product in a super thin layer, one needs much less foundation than usual to cover the whole face. However, it does not blend at all, one has to use a different brush for blending after distributing the product.

Since it's silicone it is very hygenic and is extremely easy to wash. However that's where the positives end - it's difficult to blend the product out and you need to be very patient with it, otherwise the finish is blotchy and can be streaky.

It doesn't soak up product indeed, but I found it's a lot harder to blend nicely than with a sponge. Very hygienic.
