The consistency is not super runny but a little bit thicker than water. I usually apply it after toner and it absorbs right into my skin. It has helped my skin become a bit smoother and lightened up some of my pigmentation only when mixed with my other skincare routine. Don't rely on this solely to get rid of your pigmentation or to brighten up, but use other products too. There is some fragrance as well.
